England Captain Chris Robshaw has committed his future to Harlequins by re-signing with the Aviva Premiership club today. The contract extension will probably see the back-row play out the rest of his career with the side where he made his professional debut over a decade ago.

Having made over 200 appearances for the club since graduating from their award winning Academy, Robshaw has cemented himself into the history books but insisted there is still a lot more to come from himself and his team.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the Club, and I’m extremely excited to keep pushing for silverware with both Harlequins and England.

“I am honoured to have re-signed with Harlequins, a team I’ve supported my whole life. The Club feels like an extended family to me with its amazing players, management and supporters.

“I would like to thank all of the supporters for their continued support and look forward to being with this great Club in the years to come.”

Quins director of rugby Conor O’Shea said Robshaw had “everything you want in a rugby player”.

“Chris has achieved incredible things in his career to date,” the Irishman toldthe club website. “He deserves recognition for what he has done, and will continue to do, for this game.

“I’m sure everyone at Harlequins will be delighted with this announcement and will look forward to seeing Chris playing in a Harlequins and England shirt for many years to come.”
