Rory McIlroy gives Ireland Rugby World Cup squad a golfing master class

Rory McIlroy is undoubtedly one the greatest Irish sportsmen on the planet and the world number three golfer decided to take some time out from his busy schedule to give a golfing masterclass to the Ireland Rugby team.

This masterclass didn’t go to plan for some players, such as Luke Fitzgerald, whose joy after Ireland’s victory over France was short lived.

The rugby star came crashing back down earth after his hilariously woeful attempt at golfing was captured on video and is currently going viral.

The four-time major golf champion joined up with the Ireland team at their Celtic manor base in, Wales having watched Sunday’s 24-9 World Cup victory over France.

Following the emphatic victory Ireland will face Argentina at the Millennium stadium in the quarter-finals after finishing top of Pool D.
