Ross Moriarty has issued a message to the “maggots” abusing him online after the controversial chokehold incident in the dying minutes of Wales’ win over Argentina on Saturday.
The Wales star was shown red in the 82nd minute of the game after putting fly-half Nicolas Sanchez in a prolonged chokehold following an altercation.
What do you all think of the Ross Moriarty incident on Saturday?!
Was it provoked, or does he deserve some sort of sanction? 🤔#ARGvWAL pic.twitter.com/COK3DaLKux

Correct referee decision. Unacceptable behaviour by Moriarty. Not only unnecessarily aggressive, but ignored a lineman and a medic!

Agree with the card but how is it unacceptable? Hit while on his knees, swings an arm in retaliation, then gets hit with a total cheap shot. The Argentine was lucky he just got held and not slapped round. Have a look at Moriarty’s arm – not tight but he’s not letting go! 😂

Agreed the Argentinian out of order but Ross was being told by the assistant ref clearly to leave go. He’s an excellent player but that was a disgrace. Faletau will always be head and shoulders above him in ability and temperament. Liability with WC around the corner?

This is quickly turning into football no harm done whatsoever to the no 10 he was just having a cwtch off Moriatty but he took three shots to the head, one off the medic and he gets the red card #justice4ross

The rugby law takes a strong line against retaliation – otherwise foul play/violence escalates. Therefore once the player retaliates he is the main transgressor. Having done this and then not released when asked he deserves everything he got. Rugby is built on discipline – end of

Letter of the law is red.
Should have been 2 yellows for the pumas as well.
Medic deserves banning too

Terrible officiating it’s a shambles not got a clue ruins the game

Utter bollocks. Sanchez made the mistake of punching the wrong man. And Moriarty isn’t the sort of man to turn the other cheek! #Justice4Ross

held him longer than needed. silly of him.

Ross Moriarty was stupid – deserved red. No sanction at all for the initial attack on him or tackle around the throat on him afterwards though? And what about the medic – looked like a punch in the face from him. Not convinced the overall balance of sanctions was right.#ARGvWAL
