Birkenhead Park Rugby Club player Billy Woof suffered a knee dislocation in the last few minutes of the team’s Playoff victory against Penrith RFC on 29th April.
“Sadly due to complications, Billy has had his lower leg amputated at his mid knee on Friday 12th May,” read a statement from Birkenhead. DONATE HERE
The club has now set up a just giving, with the funds raised will go towards a sports prosthetic for Billy, along with anything else he needs.

“He is currently recovering well in hospital and is in good spirits. Having already started his rehab.
“Billy is being supported by his family, girlfriend and friends at this time.
“The Club, and I’m sure the entire extended rugby community, will do whatever we can to help Billy with his rehabilitation and his future wellbeing.”
