Munster fullback Mike Haley’s mum attended her first match since her son swapped Sale Sharks for the Irish province.
Don Armand’s try gave Exeter a narrow half-time lead but the visitors could not open up the seven-point winning margin they needed to progress.

Instead Joey Carbery’s precise kicking off the tee ensured a 12th straight European home win for Munster.
But Haley’s mum got so nervous she couldn’t watch – a feeling we can all relate too with kids.
He tweeted: “So mum and dad came to their first Munster game yesterday at Thomond, unfortunately, mum ended up getting too nervous so spent the last 10 minutes of the game hiding in the toilets covering her ears 🤣”
