Chris Ashton will be returning to the Premiership next season, according to reports this morning.
The 31-year-old has been regularly linked with Sale Sharks in recent weeks and RugbyPass has said today that a deal has been agreed and his signing will be announced next week.
He will help fill the void created by Mike Haley’s and Will Addison’s departures to Ireland this summer.
Ashton’s return will make him eligible to play for England, although he will have a fair amount of competition to win a spot in Eddie Jones’ squad for the Rugby World Cup in 2019.
