Rugby World Cup: England injury updates

The Red Rose squad have one more tune-up before they fly out to Japan. Here is the latest injury news ahead of the game against Italy in Newcastle on Friday night.

Henry Slade: He appears increasingly unlikely to feature on Friday night with his ongoing knee injury.

Jack Nowell: The winger has been recovering from ankle ligament damage, is also out. Nowell also needed keyhole surgery last week after coming down with appendicitis.

Ruaridh McConnochie: The 27-year-old former 7s international has now recovered and has been fully training with the squad in Treviso, Italy.

Mako Vunipola: He has been ruled out of the final tune-up before England fly out to Japan next week with his hamstring tear.
