labor court has ordered the country’s rugby federation to pay more than £850,000 in compensation to former France coach Guy Noves.
Noves filed a lawsuit after the federation fired him in December 2017 with two years left on his contract. He was replaced by Jacques Brunel.
The Prud’hommes council in Toulouse ruled that Noves was entitled to $1.682m, including $1.202m in damages for unjustified termination.
According to French media, Noves had asked for nearly $5m in compensation but said he would not appeal the decision.
The French federation has yet to say whether it will appeal.
