Wales and British and Irish Lions flanker Sam Warburton was presented with an OBE for his services to rugby at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old captained the Lions’ spellbinding tour of New Zealand last summer, which culminated in a nail-biting but impressive 1-1 draw.
The Cardiff Blues flanker has enjoyed an illustrious international career, winning two Six Nations titles with Wales and captaining the Lions to a series win over Australia back in 2013 before last year’s showdown with the All Blacks.
On Tuesday, he wrote a particularly poignant message on Instagram, saying: ‘Special day with the family to receive my OBE. A moment I’ll never forget!’
