Saracens docked even more points by Premiership Rugby

Premiership Rugby confirmed on 18 January 2020 that Saracens Rugby Club will be relegated at the end of the 2019-2020 season.

Since then, Premiership Rugby has engaged in dialogue with the RFU. Following this consultation and in order to provide clarity for clubs and supporters, Premiership Rugby confirms that:

• The Premiership Rugby Salary Cap Regulations have been amended with the unanimous approval of our clubs. The amended Regulations are 4.9d and 14.8 and are available at www.premiershiprugby.com/salarycap .

• A further deduction of 70 points has been imposed on Saracens in the current season. This sanction is in addition to the separate deduction of 35 points imposed in November 2019 for breaches of the salary cap in previous seasons.

• The 70-point deduction ensures that Saracens will end the current season in 12th position.

• The league table will be updated with effect from today.
