Scotland claims Owen Farrell was partly to blame for the tunnel incident before Saturday’s game which led to the England player allegedly being elbowed, reports the London Evening Standard.
Television footage appeared to show Farrell and Scotland No 8 Ryan Wilson in a scuffle before they were pulled apart by team-mates.
A source close to the Scotland team insists Farrell was on the left of the tunnel which leads to the home dressing room and was pushed towards the right side, where England’s dressing room was. Farrell reacted by having a go at Wilson, who had a go back.
Scotland assistant coach Matt Taylor said: “There was a bit of pushing and shoving, both teams were highly motivated. I would imagine they bumped into each other and there might have been a few words exchanged.”
