Scotland success shapes Will Greenwood’s team of the week

The 45-year-old watched on with interest as the absorbing drama of Round Three unfolded last weekend and the twists and turns that developed influenced his selection as Greenwood picked his team of the week.

Not a single England player has been given the nod by Greenwood following their 25-13 defeat to Scotland at BT Murrayfield, which saw the Scots claim the Calcutta Cup for the first time in a decade.

Greenwood has picked seven Scotland players, but not try-scorer Sean Maitland, while also selecting five Ireland players that featured in a 37-27 win over Wales at the Aviva Stadium, including the likes of Jacob Stockdale, Cian Healy and Bundee Aki.

Marco Tauleigne and Paul Gabrillagues are France’s two representatives in the wake of their 34-17 victory over Italy, with Greenwood opting to leave out try-scorer Mathieu Bastareaud, while Leigh Halfpenny is the sole Welsh representative.
