Cardiff Blues were crowned European Rugby Challenge Cup winners in Bilbao on Friday after they beat Gloucester 31-30 in a thrilling final.
Down 20-6 at the break, the Blues clawed their way back into the contest and a late Gareth Anscombe penalty goal saw them become champions.
Here’s how social media reacted to the last gasp effort.
🏉Incredible 🇪🇺🏆 win for Cardiff Blues with some really intelligent rugby in that second half comeback and great composure from Gareth Anscombe to nail last kick. Brilliant way for Danny Wilson to bow out, maybe back in Wales one day… 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Garreth Anscombe take a bow… misses one, then comes up with a brilliant cross field kick and then the peno 🙌🙌🙌

That is a ridiculous set of kicks from Anscombe.
Tomos Williams’ finish was immaculate. 👌

Anscombe rightly getting the plaudits but Jarrod Evans was also excellent; 100% kicking and instrumental in getting the Blues moving at the beginning of the second half.
