STAYING: Another Harlequins star signs new contract

Harlequins have announced that centre Luke Northmore has signed a new long-term contract with the Club.

A skilled footballer able to play at inside and outside centre, and also on the wing, Northmore is the second fan favourite to re-sign this week following news yesterday that England back row Alex Dombrandt has recommitted his future to the Club.

“I’m really pleased to sign an extension here with the club that gave me a shot when I was fresh out of uni,” said Northmore.

“I’ve loved every second of it, to be honest. There’s been a few ups and downs, with playing behind closed doors last year and then having the results we’ve had in front of fans this year has been amazing. I wouldn’t really want to go anywhere else.

“Being here with the lads and the coaching and backroom staff, I turn up every day with a big smile on my face when I come to work, and I didn’t really want to change that.

“I feel comfortable in this environment and confident in my game whether it’s getting my opportunity off the bench or with a start to do what I can for the team.

“Winning the Premiership last season was a surreal feeling and having the opportunity to go again this season and wanting to make history once more, it’s really exciting.”
