Tom Penny, Mateo Carreras and Philip van der Walt have all signed contract extensions with Newcastle Falcons.
Backs Carreras and Penny have both signed two year extensions while versatile forward van der Walt has extended his stay by three more years.
“I just want to help build on what we’ve done so far,” Van der Walt said.
“Whilst I know there are a lot of improvements needed I’m just excited that I will be part of that process for the club.”
Carreras, a 22-year-old five-times capped Argentina international, said: “The Falcons have given me the opportunity to play top-level rugby in a great league like the Premiership,”
“The coaches here have really improved me as a player and I know this is a club where I can continue to get better.
“It’s thanks to Newcastle that I’m now playing for my country.”
Local lad Penny said.”I’m really happy to re-sign here, it’s my boyhood club and this will be something like my tenth season with the Falcons,
“I love the club, I love the boys and it was a very simple call when I was given the opportunity to sign for another two seasons.”
The 27-year-old has made 72 appearances for the Falcons after progressing through their academy.
He spent part of the 2019-2020 season at Harlequins but returned to Newcastle last summer.
