Stuart Hogg reveals he was in TEARS after emotional injury outburst

Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg was left crying in his hotel room by the injury that ruled him out of the British and Irish Lions tour last summer.

He suffered a freak injury, running into team-mate Conor Murray’s elbow while chasing down a kick during a warm-up win over the Crusaders in Christchurch.

“I looked up and all I could see was blood all over my hands and all over my arms and just a huge amount of pain,” Hogg said.

“You can’t play about with eyes. You know there’s – it kills me to say it – but there’s a lot more to life than rugby.

“I’ve got to look after myself.

“As much as I would love to be staying on… it’s going to be tough.”
