“Thank you to everyone” – England prop Ellis Genge first business venture has been a huge success

A new state of the art fitness facility owned by Sam Aspland-Robinson and current England and Bristol prop Ellis Genge opened in January 2023.

The new facility is described as ‘Leicester’s newest eco-conscious and high-performance focused gym.’ You can check out their new Facebook page here.

Since opening, the business has gone from strength to strength with Genge posting an update on his Instagram account.

He wrote on Instagram: “Thank you to everyone who’s supported us so far, here’s to a bright future.”

The post said: “Back in December, Sam and I opened our first business together, Syn.


“Last week was our busiest yet with over 200 people through the turnstiles in the space of 12 hours.

“It’s been an incredible humbling experience and I can thank you all enough. Here is to many more of that.”

Ellis Genge facts:

  • He started playing rugby aged 12 at Old Redcliffians
  • Genge, who is currently on England duty in the Six Nations, shares a link with boxing legend Muhammad Ali via his grandmother.
  • The now world-class prop began his career in the back-row
  • Genge has developmental coordination disorder, also known as Dyspraxia
  • The prop gifted the mobility scooter he used when recovering from a knee injury to a older Leicester Tigers supporter who really needed it
