Ranked! The 5 underwhelming Premiership signings of the season so far

Oh dear, oh dear. However much we will them on, sometimes deals just don’t turn out the way we hoped – or anything like it, as these underwhelming additions show.

5. Niki Goneva (Harlequins)

Described by the club as ‘a real coup’ when the winger joined from relegated Newcastle Falcons in the summer. However, it appears that the 35-year-old, who has been a prolific try scorer throughout his career, is finally slowing down. He has yet to cross the whitewash in his six Premiership outings for Quins.

4. Allan Dell (London Irish)

The Scotland international was meant to add some brute strength to the Exiles scrum, but has looked very undercooked. The 27-year-old, who has been sin-binned twice, has been limited to just two Premiership starts and a handful of replacement appearances (103 minutes combined). They’ll need some improved performances from Dell if they are to survive relegation.
