The latest on Ross Moriarty’s potential move to Premiership

A number of Gallagher Premiership clubs have joined Exeter Chiefs in the race to sign Wales international Ross Moriarty for next season.

The powerhouse, who joined the Dragons from Gloucester in 2018, is out of contract in the summer and is thought to be keen on returning to the English top tier.

Chiefs were last month reported to be leading the chase for the services of an ultra-combative player, but now, according to Wales Online, several other clubs have declared interest.

It’s thought that Harlequins and Wasps are two of the clubs looking at the 25-year-old, but his current £450,000 salary per season could be a stumbling block for both clubs.

The Welsh Rugby Union want Moriarty to stay in Wales, and it’s likely every region would be interested in a player who featured in all seven of his country’s matches at the recent World Cup.

However, it’s likely he’ll face a paycut to stay in Wales, meaning his future is very much up in the air.
