The reason for Graham Rowntree’s sudden Harlequins exit revealed

Harlequins have announced that Graham Rowntree will leave the club after just two seasons.

The former England and British and Irish Lions forwards coach has cited “personal reasons” for his departure.



“Rowntree has been forwards coach at Harlequins for the past two seasons and he has been a very prominent and popular figure in the rugby department.” read a statement from the club.

“Harlequins would like to thank Graham for his great contribution and absolute commitment during his time at the Club.

“The Club is incredibly grateful to Graham for all that he has given Harlequins and wishes him well for the future.”

Rowntree played 54 times for England between 1995 and 2006 and went on to play in the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups.
