Red Roses back Emily Scott has been called into the squad to replace full back Danielle Waterman ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup final against New Zealand.
The 25-year-old comes in for Waterman who was ruled out after suffering concussion in the semi-final win over France.
Scott had withdrawn from the squad before the tournament through injury but is now fully fit.
“It’s great to have Emily back in the squad,” said head coach Simon Middleton.
“She can cover both fly-half and full back positions and has invaluable experience playing in major tournaments like the Olympics and being part of England’s Grand Slam winning campaign earlier this year.
“It was disappointing for Emily to miss out initially on the World Cup through minor injury but she has successfully completed her rehab and is fit and ready to go.”
