Toulon and Saracens weighing up move for Springbok forward

  • Toulon and Saracens are reportedly keen on recruiting Springboks tight-head Vincent Koch ahead of next season
  • Reports from South Africa on Netwerk 24 say both clubs are monitoring his availability
  • The 25-year-old missed out on a spot in the Springboks’ World Cup squad but won two caps in the 2015 Rugby Championship
Reigning European champions Toulon and current Premiership holders Saracens are reportedly both keen on recruiting Springboks tight-head Vincent Koch to bolster their squads ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Reports from South Africa on Netwerk 24 say both clubs are monitoring his availability as they weigh up moves to improve their aging front-rows.

The 25-year-old plays his club rugby for the Pumas but turned out for the Stormers in last season’s Super Rugby competition and reports suggest he is set to represent them again after a solid campaign last term.

The same reports say Toulon are also monitoring powerhouse Marcel van der Merwe’s availability.
