Transfer News: Ealing sign powerhouse forward from Wasps

Ealing Trailfinders have announced the signing of prop Alex Lundberg for the 2018/19 season.

The loose-head prop featured for the West Londoners on loan last year and after leaving Wasps he will now head to Trailfinders Sports Club permanently.

Lundberg made his first-team debut for Wasps back in the 2013/14 season aged just 18, and became their first player to go from the mini rugby all the way to the first team for Wasps.

The 23-year-old has featured for England at Under 20 level, and has previous Greene King IPA Championship experience with Bedford Blues after spending the 15/16 season on loan at Goldington Road.

Lundberg will be fighting for the number one shirt with the likes of Matt Beesley, Campese Ma’afu and Jack O’Connell in an area of real strength for the Green and Whites.

Director of Rugby Ben Ward is pleased to add more competition to the squad with the arrival of Lundberg.

“Alex will add to our front-row area and with his ball-carrying ability adds another dimension so we’re delighted to welcome him to Ealing Trailfinders. He featured impressively on a handful of occasions last year when he was on loan and we expect him to continue to improve.”

Lundberg is delighted to get the opportunity at Trailfinders Sports Club for the upcoming campaign.

“I’m really excited to have signed. I’m just looking forward to getting back on the pitch and contributing to a successful season at Ealing Trailfinders in whatever way I can.”
