Transfer News: Former Wasps star makes move to rugby league

Former Wasps centre Guy Armitage has quit rugby union to make the move to rugby league side the London Broncos.

Armitage spent two seasons with Wasps after joining from London Irish in 2016, making 11 senior appearances.

Born in Westminster Guy is the younger brother to Steffon and Delon Armitage who both represented their country at Rugby Union. Guy too has represented his country with 4 appearances at under 20 level.

He signed initially for the London Irish Academy before going on loan to London Welsh and London Scottish. He joined French side Toulon but returned to the UK after only six months and re-signed for Irish on his return.

Most recently the 6ft 5 inch winger/centre played for Broncos neighbours at Ealing Trailfinders making seven starts for the union side before spending time at Hull FC and on loan at Doncaster Knights.

Armitage is delighted to be joining London and said, “I’d like to thank everyone for the huge support they have given me in what’s been an exciting career change…even if not a change of scenery!”
