Transfer News: Ireland flanker reportedly set to join Ulster

Ulster are set to sign Ireland international back-row Jordi Murphy from Leinster at the end of the season, according to reports on Tuesday.

The Irish Times believe the athletic forward is about to end his seven-year spell with the Dublin side and ink a deal at Kingspan Stadium.

The 26-year-old scored last week and has played 95 games for Leinster along with winning 18 caps for Ireland but has struggled to nail down a starting berth, with players such as Sean O’Brien, Josh van der Flier, Jack Conan, Rhys Ruddock and Dan Leavy all battling for places.

Ulster, in contrast, are not as well stocked in the back-row so this reported move should be positive for player, Ulster and also Ireland.
