Sale Sharks have confirmed they are looking to sign one of the best, and most unique, locks in world cup.
The Premiership club are looking to ease their injury problems in the second row by signing Fijian superstar Leone Nakarawa who is reportedly facing the sack from French Top 14 side Racing 92 after failing to return to club duty following the Rugby World Cup.
Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “We are looking for a high-quality lock.
“He’s apparently gone missing but we’ve tracked him down and we’re in negotiations at the moment.”
Racing 92 president Jacky Lorenzetti says a decision regarding Leone Nakarawa’s future will be made this week despite the club having until December 21 to make a decision on the matter.
The Fiji lock returned from a post World Cup holiday two weeks’ late.
