Transfer News: Scotland international set to join Scarlets

Edinburgh scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne is poised to leave the club and join reigning Guinness Pro14 champions Scarlets, according to reports.

The nine-times capped Scotland internationalist is believed to have rejected an offer from the Capital club and decided to pursue his career in south Wales.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2015 and was selected for Scotland’s World Cup squad but his last cap was off the bench against Wales in the Six Nations two years ago.

Hidalgo-Clyne has not been included in Gregor Townsend’s squads for the autumn Tests and recent Six Nations and faced challenges for the Edinburgh No.9 jersey from Nathan Fowles and Sean Kennedy.
