Toby Fricker has joined Bristol Bears on a two-year contract with immediate effect.
The Ebbw Vale winger – who has represented Wales Sevens and Welsh Students – links up with Pat Lam’s squad following the season-long injury to Ryan Edwards.
22-year-old Fricker is one of the standout players in the Welsh Principality Premiership, winning the Best Newcomer award in 2018 following his debut campaign.
Head coach Pat Lam said: “Toby has earned his opportunity to test himself in a fully professional environment. His performances in the Welsh Premiership have impressed us and he shows the attributes to be a quality winger.

“With Ryan [Edwards] unavailable for the rest of the campaign, Toby gives us some added depth in that position. He’s a young man with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Toby on board and integrating him into the Bears environment.
“He is a young Englishman hungry for an opportunity and I believe our rugby programme will help him reach his dreams.”
