Edinburgh scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, 24, has been linked with a move to Bristol Rugby next summer, according to The Rugby Paper.
With first choice number nine Rhodri Williams joining Welsh Pro14 side the Dragons next season, Bristol head coach Pat Lam is left with two largely untested youngsters in Andy Uren and Reiss Cullen, and new signing Nic Stirzaker from the Melbourne Rebels.

With the club set for a return to the Aviva Premiership, sitting top of Championship table with five games remaining, they will need at least one more experienced player in such a key position.
Hidalgo-Clyne has nine caps for Scotland, his last coming against Wales in the 2016 Six Nations.
