Newcastle Falcons are expected to announce this week that French international centre Maxime Mermoz is leaving the club according to The Rugby Paper.
It was reported a few weeks ago the 31-year-old was being released without a club having barely featured this season – a remarkable situation for a player who has 35 caps for France and is still just 31 years-old.
According to the French media, he will likely head back across the channel to play in the Top 14.
