Leicester Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor is to add a fourth forward to his squad ahead of next season.
According to RugbyPass O’Connor has secured the signature of Tongan international Steve Mafi.
The 28-year-old forward who can play in both the backrow and second row made 85 appearances for the Tigers between 2010 and 2014, featuring in three Aviva Premiership finals
Mafi, who has 25 international caps, left the Aviva Premiership side for family reasons to return to Australia where he played for the Greater Sydney Rams and Super Rugby side Western Force before moving to French Top 14 side Castres where he has spent two seasons.
Tigers have already announced the signing of David Denton and Will Spencer from Worcester Warriors and Guy Thompson from Wasps.
