London Irish are looking to make a late move to land England and Newcastle Falcons backrow star Mark Wilson according to The Rugby Paper.
The Exiles are looking for a big name replacement for the injured Sean O’Brien who is making the switch to the promoted Gallagher Premiership side from Leinster but is set to have an operation on a hip injury with a return to play date unknown.
Sale Sharks were the leading contenders to sign Wilson, who was named England forward of the year last season, on a loan deal which would allow the Falcon to return to Newcastle after a season providing they earn an immediate return to the Premiership after a season in the Championship.
Despite having the strongest squad in the Premiership, allowing them to complete a league and European Champions Cup double, Saracens are also reportedly interested in landing the powerful backrower.
