Transfer Rumours: Wales international linked with a shock move to France

Former Wales star James Hook has been surprisingly linked with Top 14 giants Racing 92.

The 81-cap fly-half spent three years in France playing for Perpignan between 2011 and 2014, scoring 801 points in 68 games.

Now he has been thrust back onto the radar with respected rugby paper Midi Olympique listing him, along with New Zealand legend Dan Carter, among names proposed as candidates to replace Patrick Lambie at Racing 92.

Ex-South Africa international Lambie had to retire as a player prematurely after a run of head injuries.
