The Rugby Paper has reported that Wasps search for a new fly-half has led them to an ex-All Black.
Dai Young is reportedly keen to land experienced playmaker Luke McAlister from Toulon.
The 34-year-old, who won 33 caps for New Zealand, will be available this summer when his contract at the three-time European Champions expires.
McAlister had a spell with Sale Sharks earlier in his career and moved to Toulon from Toulouse at the start of the current season on a one year deal.
With Danny Cipriani and Jimmy Gopperth potentially departing the Ricoh Arena this summer, Wasps are keen to get a deal for a number 10 tied up by January.
