Ulster hooker Rob Herring expressed his “sadness” at the departures of Ireland duo Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding from the province.
The fly-half and centre had their contracts terminated by Ulster and the IRFU last weekend, after a trial found them not guilty of rape.
And at a news conference on Tuesday, Herring read out a statement from the Ulster players which revealed their reaction to the news.
“It is with a great deal of sadness that the players and pro staff have learnt of this outcome,” he said.
“We know that the two boys will be successful both on and off the pitch wherever they go.
“As a group, we have to move on and our full focus is now on Glasgow this weekend.”
