Uncapped New Zealander set to be called up ahead of Danny Care by Eddie Jones

Gloucester scrum-half Willi Heinz is set to be handed a shock World Cup call by Eddie Jones, according to the Mail Online.

The Kiwi’s addition will raise eyebrows. The 32-year-old is preferred to England’s most-capped scrum-half Danny Care, who was axed last week.

The uncapped No 9 was born and raised in New Zealand and only qualifies via his grandmother who was born in England.

Heinz has once played against England, and Cipriani, for the Super Rugby side Crusaders back in 2014 when the visitors lost a series 3-0 to the All Blacks but beat the top Kiwi franchise in a mid-week game.

Clubmates Ollie Thorley and Danny Cipriani are also set to be named in Jones’ squad.
