Uncapped star set for England debut against France

George Furbank will step up for Six Nations opener against France after Anthony Watson was ruled out with injury, according to the Mail Online.

The Bath star has failed to recover fully from a calf injury in time for the game.

Northampton sensation Furbank will debut in his place. The 23-year-old’s  performances this season in the Gallagher Premiership have seen him be one of the most impactful players in the league as he sits third for metres made (495), eighth for defenders beaten (27) and ninth for carries (81).

Prop Will Stuart, also 23, has also been retained in a 25-man squad and is set to win a first cap from the bench.

Hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie will re-join the squad after leaving camp earlier in the week.
