Wales forward coach to join Leinster after World Cup

It has been confirmed that Wales forwards coach Robin McBryde will join Leinster after the 2019 Rugby World Cup, the Welsh Rugby Union has announced.

The 37-times capped ex-Wales hooker will take over as scrum coach from John Fogarty who is joining Ireland’s coaching team.

McBryde led Wales on three separate occasion as head coach, for the 2009 tour to USA & Canada, to Japan in 2013 and a two test tour to the Pacific in 2017.

He will link up with Leinster post the RWC later this year.

Commenting on the announcement, McBryde said:

“I am delighted to be joining Leinster. They are one of the standout teams in Europe, with a strong identity and a proud history, and I am really looking forward to starting with them later this year.

“I see it as a great opportunity to join a very experienced and exciting coaching team and to help continue Leinster’s great successes.”
