Ulster are set to confirm the signing of Australian international out-half Christian Lealiifano in time for the new Pro14 season.
BBC Sport NI are reporting that a deal is close, with Ulster set to confirm the signing in the coming days. The 29-year-old has won 19 caps for the Wallabies and recently returned after recovering from leukaemia.
Lealiifano can play at ten or in midfield and is set to cover the void left by Ireland international Paddy Jackson as he deals with legal proceedings.
He was born in New Zealand before moving to Australia at the age of seven.
Ulster kicks off their Pro14 campaign against South African newcomers Cheetahs at Kingspan Stadium on Friday, 1 September.
