Wasps boss Dai Young discusses Cipriani and Haskell’s futures

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young has said it is too early to start contract talks with Danny Cipriani and James Haskell.

This is despite the pair becoming free agents at the end of this season.

“James’ only focus is to recapture the form that we all know he has got,” Young said, “then if he gets back in the England squad he’ll have a view on where he goes from there.

“If he doesn’t I think he’ll have a different view. But at this moment in time his only focus is to get back playing. He’ll start thinking about his future a little bit further down the line.

“I’m sure Danny will get linked with everybody. We haven’t really sat down and discussed Danny’s situation really. It’s a bit early for that. He wants to see how we progress and where he fits into the England set-up.

“All these players are out of contract which means other clubs are alerted to them. So it’s very hard for me to guarantee where these players will end up because it’s pretty early yet and nobody knows.”
