Wasps’ Dan Robson ‘frustrated and disappointed’ by England snub

Dan Robson’s ‘fantastic attitude’ has been praised by Wasps chief Dai Young after the scrum-half was overlooked by England.

Head coach Eddie Jones instead chose up 36-year-old Richard Wigglesworth.

Many were surprised by Robson’s omission from Jones’ initial Six Nations squad following his sparkling form for Wasps so far this season as England instead went with just two specialist nines.

“I know I’m biased but I think Dan’s had a fantastic season, he’s been playing fantastic rugby,” said Young.

“I’m a little bit surprised that he’s not been selected but Eddie gives him feedback and that should stay between them.

“Speaking to him, he’s got a fantastic attitude.

“Of course he’s disappointed and frustrated by it, but he’s got a really positive attitude and he’s just got to hopefully keep playing well for Wasps and at some point it will happen for him.

“His attitude has been first class but you can’t help but feel a bit of sympathy for him.”
