Worcester Warriors got their European Challenge Cup campaign off to a positive start with a victory against Stade Rochelle at Sixways on Saturday.

Ryan Lamb kicked a pair of penalties early on to give the Warriors a six-point lead before Charles Bouldoire halved the deficit for the visitors.

The Warriors number 10 though stepped up again with two more penalty goals before the break to put the hosts clear, 12-3.

It then took Worcester until the last minute to make the win safe and open the try scoring through Benny Howard, who cut through two defenders before diving over the whitewash. Lamb then converted to complete the days scoring, 19-3.
