Worcester Warriors Chris Ashton handed lengthy ban - Ruck

Worcester Warriors Chris Ashton handed lengthy ban

Chris Ashton has been handed a six-week ban following his red-card incident against Northampton Saints in the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership clash.

The former England man was sent off in the 50th minute for a no-arms hit on Tommy Freeman’s head in a ruck and Saints took advantage almost straight away when Ollie Sleightholme found the hole in the defence where Ashton should have been.

His absence hampered Worcester in the game as they succumbed to a 14-62 defeat.

Considering his poor disciplinary record that includes a 13-week ban for biting an opponent in 2016 and a seven week ban for an illegal tip-tackle in 2018, he was handed no reduction.
