World Rugby chief would ‘LOVE’ new country to be added to the Six Nations

As vice- chairman of the rebranded World Rugby, Agustin Pichot has put his support behind Georgia in their bid to join the Six Nations.

“I would love to see the Six Nations open up to Georgia.

“I would also challenge SANZAAR anzaar to open up to Japan and the Americas Championship to countries to like Mexico,” said Pichot.

Those are the type of things that motivates me to be a suit; the growth of the women’s game, establishing rugby in China.”

Pichot outlined how championing Tier 2 Nations development was at the core of his position in the World Rugby structure.

“What are we here for? I am not naive. I understand we have to make sure the business grows but we cannot lose what rugby stands for.”
