World Rugby could fine England for their response to Haka

England could be fined by World Rugby for the team’s unique approach to the All Blacks Haka immediately before Saturday’s semi-final victory.

No reason for the particular formation has yet been given – ‘v’ for victory, maybe, or a Red Arrows chevron.

Nigel Owens visibly attempted to usher the front-most England players behind the halfway line, to maintain a gap as defined by World Rugby regulations.

Back in 2011, during the Rugby World Cup final, France was fined £2500 for similar encroachment.

This England variation was suggested by head coach Eddie Jones, formulated by captain Owen Farrell with his team-mates, and “signed off” by Jones.
