All Blacks back Ruben Love has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle ligament injury.
The 25-year-old will undergo surgery after the extent of the injury was confirmed.
An All Blacks update read: “Ruben Love will undergo surgery after sustaining an ankle ligament injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the year.
“Wishing Ruben all the best with his surgery and recovery.”
It brings Love’s season to a premature end and means he will now focus on his rehabilitation ahead of a huge 2027 campaign.
The versatile Hurricanes star, who can operate at fullback and fly-half, has become an increasingly important option for the All Blacks.
No exact timeframe has yet been given for his return.
