8. Chris Anthony

The 41-year-old is a former international Wales rugby union player, winning 17 caps for his country between 1997 and 2003. After his rugby career ended, the prop went on to be a primary school teacher.


9. Brian Ashton

Former England international Brian Ashton MBE has also been head coach of the England and Ireland national teams, which includes leading the men in white to the 2007 Rugby World Cup final. However, his original profession before going into coaching was teaching alongside his close friend Dick Greenwood, specifically history. He’d go onto teach future England international Kyran Bracken history.


10. Ian Robertson

The 72-year-old was a popular Scottish broadcaster, writer and former international rugby player, winning eight caps for the dark blues between 1968 and 1970. He is best known as a rugby union commentator for BBC Radio. However, he worked for four years as an English teacher at Fettes College, where his most famous pupil was Tony Blair.
