Danny Cipriani could depart Gloucester one-year early

Gloucester fly-half Danny Cipriani could be bought out of his contract if reports are to be believed.

Cipriani was named Premiership player of the year in 2019 after a spectacular first season with Gloucester, when the club reached the play-offs for the first time in eight years.

The 32-year-old, who signed a three-year contract with the Cherry & Whites in 2019, could be leaving Kingsholm one-year early.

There have been reports in Japan that the fly-half will receive a fresh approach for his services at the end of the 2020/21 Gallagher Premiership season.

Kobelco Steelers in the Japanese top league are reportedly willing to pay the Gloucester significant compensation and offered the playmaker in the region of £1m per season to replace departing Dan Carter.
