England Rugby has been hit with another coaching departure in less than a month, as defence coach Felix Jones has left his position with immediate effect, according to reports.
This news follows the exit of head of strength and conditioning Aled Walters, who left the men’s squad to join the Irish Rugby Football Union.
Jones, who took over as defence coach from Kevin Sinfield after the 2023 Rugby World Cup, was initially hailed as an excellent hire.
However, his tenure has ended abruptly amid reports of dissatisfaction with the “unstable working environment” within the England camp, according to The Times.
Sinfield, who could return to the role, had been planning to step down following the recent tours of Japan and New Zealand, but his rapport with the players and extensive experience were seen as indispensable.
