French forward avoids red card for violent attack on Alun Wyn Jones

France scrum-half Antoine Dupont inspired his side to a 38-21 victory over Wales in a Six Nations warm-up match behind closed doors in Paris.

However, one contentious incident during the match saw Alun Wyn Jones literally assaulted in the ruck.

The video clip, which was shared across social media, clearly shows French second row Bernard Le Roux viscously elbow the Wales skipper during a confrontation at the breakdown.

Surely this should have been a red card?

LIST | 5 things we absolutely loved in rugby this weekend

1. Alun Wyn Jones belting out the Welsh anthem with no fans

The Wales captain – equalling Richie McCaw’s world cap record of 148 Tests when he took to the field to face France – could be seen putting his all into Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.
